Life Education and Harold G Raffe

Today we had our first lesson in the Life Education Bus with Carmen and Harold the Giraffe.  We are learning about how we are all different and special in our own way and how to show empathy towards others.  You might like to see if your child can remember what that word means - hopefully some of them can!!

Mufti Day Fundraiser

With recent disasters in Vanuatu and Nepal we thought it would be a good time to do a fundraiser for 'disaster relief'. Children may dress in mufti tomorrow.  Please remember to also send a donation along.

Study Ladder

You will have noticed this week that your child brought home a notice about this internet based learning programme.  You can find their username and password under this week's newsletter in their homework books.  You can use the link above on this blog to find the website easily.  A few of the children have given it a go, we would love to hear how everyone is finding it :-)

Mr Duston in Room 7

Today we were lucky to have Mr Duston in Room 7.  He entertained us with some songs.

Domain visit

Today we went to the domain to collect leaves for our art project.  It was a long walk but we all enjoyed the beautiful autumn day.

This Week's Winners

Congratulations Chloe and Rihanna, who both won Principal's Awards in assembly today!!! Ka pai!!

Chloe won hers for 'always being prepared to share ideas and opinions honestly' and Rihanna won hers for 'always helping others and being prepared to speak up for them'

ANZAC ceremony

Today the whole school attended an ANZAC ceremony,  Mr Archer spoke and Rev. Halsall said a prayer.  Julie. Mairs played the last post.  We placed our poppies on the wreath.

Field of Remembrance Ceremony

Today Jenny, Steve and Ann-Maree set up our school's Field of Remembrance for our Ceremony to commemorate the 100 year anniversary of the ANZAC landing in Gallipoli.  The service will be held out in front of the Junior classes at 1.30pm tomorrow (Thursday).

Afternoons in Room 7/8

We are really lucky in Room 7/8 because in the afternoons while Mrs Forsyth is teaching Reading Recovery, we have Mrs Cockfield to teach us!! She reads us stories and teaches us for maths with Mrs Fairweather.

Letter of the week activity

Each day we have a letter of the week activity to do. Today it was ~ stuffed stegosaurus

Wet Day lunches

Today it is raining at lunchtime.  In Room 7/8 we sit nicely at our tables to eat our lunch. 

Welcome to Term 2!!!

We were all so happy to be back at school today! A special welcome to the newest members of our class... Blair, Jed, Zak, Ayla, Jessica, Darius, Onyx, Lachie and Morris who have come to our room from Rooms 5 and 6.
