Week 8 Awards

Congratulations Krystle and Amber who received our Principal's Awards this week.

Emmy-Jean and John received special awards for being awarded 5 and 15 class certificates.

 

Plunket Christmas Tree Festival

We have decorated a Plunket Christmas Tree and it looks amazing!!  They are on display until the 20th of December in the Banbury Arcade between Toyworld and Buller Pharmacy.  Don't forget to vote for your favourite tree (which will be ours of course!).

A Special Visitor

Yesterday Ayla's two day old brother Brayden came  to visit us. He is so cute and was such a good boy.

The Taniwha Stomp

Finally, our masks were complete and we got to present to the school and our whanau at assembly.  Thank you everyone who came to watch us!

Swimming

Please remember we are swimming every day for the next 2 weeks, starting Monday.  It is really important that all uniform items are clearly named.  Children will also need their togs, towel (and goggles if possible), all named.  It is a good idea for children to have sandals or jandals on their feet during this time.

Oh No!!!!!

Aidyn broke his arm at the end of last term and is due (hopefully!) to get his cast off soon. Sophie broke her arm at the weekend and has just got hers on.  They have matching yellow casts!!

Our Little Gardens

Today most of the children will be bringing their Little Garden seedlings home.  It is up to each family what they do with them, but if you are able to plant them we would love to know how they get on.  There are a couple that we are still waiting on that haven't sprouted yet so they will come home once this has happened (hopefully).

75th Jubilee

Over the weekend our school celebrated its 75th Jubilee.  We got to have a piece of the amazing cake this morning for our morning tea!! It looked amazing and tasted even better.

We have begun painting our Taniwhas masks.  They are looking amazing!!!

Amber was placed second in the Junior Section of our school competition about TIMS. We made a poster and wrote about a time when we have used TIMS.  Tino pai Amber we are very proud of you!!

Little Gardeners

Last term Mrs Fairweather signed us up to receive a free set of the little garden seeds from New World. Today we got to plant them and learnt about how a seed germinates and what conditions it needs.

Comparing Length

We have been looking at length in our class and ordering things (including ourselves) from shortest to tallest (or longest) and tallest (or longest) to shortest.

Telling the Time

Mrs Fairweather's maths group are learning how to tell the time. We are learning o'clock and half past times.  It would be great if this could be reinforced at home too 🕓🕟

Paper Mâché Progress

We are up to layering on the paper for our masks. We are so excited to be getting closer to the finished product!

Kapahaka Performance

Our Senior Kapahaka group have been busy practising really hard for their upcoming Festival Performance.  This week during assembly they will be performing for us as part of their preparation and they have asked us to invite our parents to come along to watch.  This will be from 9-10 in the school hall.
