Mrs White (Mrs Forsyth's Mum) comes in and helps the children in Room 7/8 with their reading. She does this on a voluntary basis and is much loved by all the children. Here she is showing Torie and the rest of the class her Queens Service Medal which she recieved for services to hockey and the community.
Welcome to Room 7/8's blog. We have 19 wonderful year 1 children in our classroom. We think we are super lucky because we have two teachers! Mrs Forsyth teaches us in the morning and in the afternoons Mrs Fairweather teaches us while Mrs Forsyth takes Reading Recovery. Our lovely teacher aides Jody and Ameena help us too! Thanks for visiting our blog...we would love you to leave a comment.

Room 7/8's walk
This morning our class went for a walk to enjoy the lovely spring weather. We went through "The Domain" and saw some of the damage from the storm we had in April. We saw lots of korus and skeleton leaves. Then we walked to the Buller Bridge. We listened to the trucks crossing over it and then we stood underneath the bridge and listened to the trucks thundering above us. It was fun!
We saw lots of spring flowers (and smelt them) and we had a look at a creative woodpile!
When we got back to school we had ten minutes of free pay on the adventure playground. Afterwards we had lots and lots of ideas to write about.

BUBBLES
Today we went outside to blow bubbles. We got all excited and came back to the classroom bursting with ideas to write about our bubbles.
We are so proud of you Usher!
Look at Usher learning his high frequency words. He is clever at remembering how to spell new words each week. Well done Usher.

Look who came to visit us!
This morning Seth from Room 6 brought his 4 week old puppies to school. We were so excited to have a cuddle.
