Today with our talented teacher aide Teresa we drew pictures of The Lorax.
Welcome to Room 7/8's blog. We have 19 wonderful year 1 children in our classroom. We think we are super lucky because we have two teachers! Mrs Forsyth teaches us in the morning and in the afternoons Mrs Fairweather teaches us while Mrs Forsyth takes Reading Recovery. Our lovely teacher aides Jody and Ameena help us too! Thanks for visiting our blog...we would love you to leave a comment.

Ms Finnerty's maths experts taught Mrs Fairweather's maths group all about 3D shapes. They had to work cooperatively to make 3D shapes with sticks and lollies.

Position and Direction
Mrs Fairweather's maths group are learning about giving and following directions (left, right, forwards, backwards half turn etc.) and using words to describe position (beside, behind, in front...)
We had fun giving directions to people who were blindfolded to get them to move from one place to another in our class.
Kai was heading to the library corner...
Made it!

Geometry in Room 7/8
We have had Miss Ward teaching in Room 7/8 while Ms Finnerty is away on leave. She has been teaching her maths group all about shapes. These are some of the awesome shapes that some of the children made today. I wonder if all the parents know the names for the shapes?
